Adaptive Shield, a security platform for cloud-based applications, has raised USD 30 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners with participation from Okta Ventures and Vertex Ventures Israel. Adaptive Shield’s total funding stands at USD 34 million following this round.
The company expects to use the funds to accelerate growth through global expansion, product innovation, and hiring in the areas of R&D, customer success, and sales.
Analyst QuickTake: The company closed its seed round in 2020 with 11 staff at the time and was in the process of hiring its first employee in the US. Between then and now, Adaptive Shield’s team has more than doubled to 25. The company serves several Fortune 100 companies and most recently inked a distribution agreement with Macnica Networks Corp. to expand into Japan. The investment in Adaptive Shield is the third by Insight Partners in the next-gen cybersecurity industry since September. Before this, the company led the Series A of cloud-native application security platform DeepFactor and participated in network detection and response (NDR) startup Corelight’s Series D round .
