A leading manufacturer of frozen food products, McCain Foods, has invested another USD 30 million in GoodLeaf Farms. The new financing boosts McCain’s investments in the company to USD 65 million (the initial investment was made several years ago).
GoodLeaf Farms will use the funds to open two vertical farms in Eastern Canada (possibly in Quebec) and Western Canada.
GoodLeaf Farms currently operates a 45,000 sq. ft. vertical farm in Ontario, Canada. The company grows and sells microgreens and baby greens to nearby restaurants, fresh produce retailers, and distribution partners. The company also has an R&D facility in Nova Scotia.
