Pressto raises USD 1.5 million in pre-seed funding

Funding

 • Pressto, a SaaS-based writing and micro-journalism education platform for K-12 students, raised USD 1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Tidal Venture Partners, with participation from Copper Wire Ventures and a group of angel investors.

 • The company intends to use the funds for product development and market expansion.

Analyst QuickTake: Media outlets’ on-demand access to users globally via social media and mainstream channels is believed to have made many individuals susceptible to manipulation by opinionated news over factual information. To combat such media exploitation, companies like Pressto aim to provide real-time feedback and guidance and cognitive behavior therapy lessons to aid understanding and critical thinking in young learners. In April 2021, Pressto launched its platform globally, with the intent to partner with schools and implement the program as a supplemental curriculum and later extend the program to parents and children for personal use. The program is currently part of a pilot program with schools in the US and Canada.
