Fastly, a cloud and edge services platform, acquired web application development platform Glitch for an undisclosed amount to integrate the platform with its own Fastly edge computing services.
Glitch enables over 1.8 million developers that are active on its platform to build and share full-stack web apps without requiring their own infrastructure or tool management. Fastly stated that it will leverage Glitch’s development team to form a new “Developer Experience” team within Fastly to create a number of new tools and resources for users. This includes remixable starter app templates, blogs, tutorials, and talks as well as easier pathways for gathering feedback.
