H2GO Power, a British developer of hydrogen storage and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven hydrogen asset management software solutions, has secured GBP 4.3 million (USD 5.4 million) in funding from the UK Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), through its Net Zero Innovation Portfolio Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 Competition.
The funds will be utilized to deploy a state-of-the-art commercial-scale hydrogen storage and AI-powered energy management system on the electrical grid of Scotland’s Orkney Island.
The system will remove 7,500 gallons of diesel and 90 tons of CO2 emissions per annum and is expected to operate for a life span of 30 years.
The funding round was also supported by H2GO Power-led consortium members, which include EMEC, ARC, Autodesk, HSSMI, and MTC.
