British hydroponic vertical farming startup, Eider Vertical Farming (EVF), has received a GBP 50 million (~USD 63 million) investment from Slate, a global investment company focusing on real assets, via the latter’s “Cities and Communities Impact Infrastructure Strategy.”
EVF will use the funds to construct five vertical farming facilities across the UK by 2024. The facilities will be built next to existing parking lots and will grow leafy greens year-round using 95% less water and 85% less land and with a 21x higher yield compared to traditional farming.
