German B2B BNPL startup Mondu has raised EUR 40 million (approx. USD 43 million) in a Series A funding round led by Valar Ventures. The round also included the participation of FinTech Collective, Cherry Ventures, and senior executives from Klarna, Zalando, and SumUp. The company’s total funding amounts to USD 57 million with the new round.
The fresh funds will support Mondu’s customer acquisition and product development. It also plans to further expand across Europe starting in Austria.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake : Mondu faces competition from early-stage European peers such as Tranch and Treyd who have recently raised funds for their respective expansion plans. Swedish startup Treyd raised Series A funding of USD 10.5 million, while UK-based startup Tranch also raised GBP 3.5 million (approx. USD 4.4 million).</ul>
