Netskope, a cloud security startup, has acquired WootCloud, an IoT security startup, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2016, WootCloud leverages proprietary AI/ML models to identify, assess, and remediate threats across IoT devices on managed and unmanaged networks. The HyperContext Security platform collects billions of telemetry data based on daily measurements of device characteristics, which are further analyzed to provide device discovery, classification, risk assessment, access control and network segmentation, asset management and compliance, threat detection, and remediation. The platform helps customers to gain visibility and context into their IoT devices through deep insights and detect anomalous behavior through continuous real-time monitoring.
Netskope will integrate WootCloud’s HyperContext Security platform with its Intelligent Security Service Edge (SSE) platform to expand its SSE and Zero Trust capabilities to secure critical data across the cloud and the network and enterprise IoT devices at scale.

Analyst QuickTake: The acquisition of WootCloud follows Netskope’s USD 300 million Series H funding round raised in July last year , in which it was valued at USD 7.5 billion. The funds were planned to be utilized to expand its SASE offering and go-to-market efforts. Netskope also indicated that it could most likely be its last funding round before it looks at going public.
