Ilke Homes, a British developer of single-family modular houses, has partnered with British utility firm Octopus Energy, to build houses with zero energy bills on a site in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.
The companies will start with two semi-detached houses (as a part of the 153-home scheme), which will be available for shared ownership. The houses will be embedded with air source heat pumps, solar panels, and battery storage solutions, which will reportedly save more than GBP 2,000 annually on energy costs.
101 houses of this 153-house scheme will also be developed as zero-carbon houses using Ilke’s net-zero emissions feature.

Ilke Homes aims to deliver 10,000 prefabricated houses by 2026, with a pipeline of 3,000 houses recorded at the beginning of this year, with further plans to deliver 10,000 zero-energy-bill properties by 2030.</ul>
