Myplas, a South Africa-based plastics recycler, has received USD 5 million in debt financing from Closed Loop Partners, a New-York based circular economy investment firm.
The funding will support the construction of Myplas’ flexible film recycling plant in Minnesota. Myplas is reportedly investing USD 24 million to build a 170,000 sq ft mechanical recycling plant that will recycle up to 90 million pounds of plastic waste per year at full capacity to produce recycled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pellets and recycled food-grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pellets.
