ResMed, a provider of technology solutions for healthcare providers and treatments for chronic diseases, has purchased German out-of-hospital platform solution provider MEDIFOX Dan for an enterprise value of around USD 1 billion. The transaction is expected to close by end December 2022. ResMed intends to integrate MEDIFOX’s operations into its own, as the two company’s customer bases are complementary. However, MEDIFOX will continue to operate its own brand.
This acquisition was carried out to bolster ResMed’s SaaS solutions and facilitate the company's expansion to markets outside of the US. ResMed will acquire MEDIFOX’s employees, management structure, locations, and business processes. The company will keep its Co-managing Directors Dr. Thorsten Schliebe and Christian Städtler, reporting directly to ResMed’s Saas President Bobby Ghosha.
MEDIFOX Dan specializes in developing and providing software solutions for care facilities including professional, non-professional, child, family, and youth welfare centers. The company provides solutions for resource planning and management, care planning, navigation, documentation, administrative activities, billing, and other web hosting services.
California-based ResMed offers SaaS solutions with respect to connected medical devices and healthcare services that enable care to be provided to patients both in-person and virtually. The company also provides treatment, therapies, and medical devices for individuals diagnosed with sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other chronic diseases.
