dYdX, a decentralized exchange protocol, announced that it would be moving away from Ethereum to its own blockchain on the Cosmos Network.
The migration, dubbed “V4,” aims at fully decentralizing the protocol. dYdX will leverage the Cosmos software development kit (SDK) to decide the parameters of its own chain and create new tools such as an in-memory off-chain order book as well as a matching engine.
Following the move, dYdX claims that it will be able to multiply its processing capacity by 10. Notably, the update will also require no trading gas fees, charging a percentage-based trading fee instead, which will accrue to validators and stakers through its native DYDX token.
