CubicAcres partners with Intelligent Growth Solutions to expand to East Coast US

Partnerships
Geographic expansion

  • Cubic Acres, a New York-based hydroponic vertical farming startup, has partnered with Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS), a UK-based developer of hydroponic vertical farms, to expand operations into the East Coast US.

  • IGS will build a vertical farming facility in Long Island, New York for CubicAcres that will have eight 30ft growth towers with a capacity of growing up to 2.5 million heads of lettuce per year once fully operational. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year, with plans to become operational by early 2023.

  • CubicAcres will use the farm to grow crops such as Romaine lettuce and serve food service and retail customers in New York City. The farm will allow CubicAcres to grow produce closer to its customers, eliminating the food miles to New York from the company’s first farm in Sonoma Valley (2,800 miles).

  • Upon successful completion of the project, CubicAcres and IGS plan to extend their partnership to build more vertical farming facilities across the East Coast, US.
