Eclipse Food, an Oakland-based producer of plant-based ice cream has raised over USD 40 million in a Series B funding round led by Sozo Ventures along with the participation of Forerunner Ventures, Initialized Capital, Gaingels, and KBW Ventures. This funding round brings the total funds raised by the company to over USD 60 million.
The funding is expected to be used to facilitate the growth of the business in the retail and foodservice sectors, expedite R&D of its proprietary plant-based dairy platform, add hires to build its team, and create awareness of the brand.

The company has seen an increase in retail presence of 2,100% YoY, with over 130 sales points across the US. Furthermore, the company has entered into several foodservice partnerships–most recently the partnership with Smashburger –to increase the brand’s reach.</ul>
