PureCycle Technologies, a producer of recycled polypropylene resin, has partnered with the Jacksonville Jaguars to divert over 500,000 pieces of plastic waste at the entertainment destination TIAA Bank Field.
As per the partnership, the two companies will spend the first year understanding the positive impact of PureCycle's “PureZero” waste program, which will be implemented in the Jacksonville area. The PureZero waste program is PurceCyle’s first-of-its-kind plastic waste program, which focuses on diverting plastic waste occurring at stadiums and entertainment venues.
For PureCycle, the partnership marks the company as a “Proud Plastic Recycling Partner” of the Jaguars, with the latter being the first professional sports team in Florida to implement the program. PureCycle also targets the reduction of plastic waste generated at over 50 games and events, while accumulating a stock of No. 5 plastic products, which it can use as feedstock.
