Promoted.ai, an AdTech firm providing a unified ad and discounts platform for online marketplaces, has raised USD 6 million in seed funding led by Y Combinator with participation from Interlace Ventures, Vela Partners, and angel investors such as Michael Seibel. This brings its total raised funds to USD 8 million.
Founded in 2020 by Andrew Yates and Dan Hill, who previously helped build ad systems at Facebook and Google, Promoted.ai provides a unified marketplace optimization platform. The platform is machine learning-powered for optimizing and personalizing user experiences on online marketplaces and is designed for web and mobile. Features of the platform include 1) real-time data infrastructure, to capture user metrics from apps and websites, 2) search and feed optimization, and 3) ad network and discount promotions, to place personalized offers, deals, and native ads across multiple marketplaces. Users of the platform include Hipcamp, Snackpass, and Outschool.
The firm plans to use the funds to further develop its real-time streaming data infrastructure platform as well as to expand its engineering team. The firm currently has a team of 7 engineers (out of a total of 10 team members) most of whom, similar to its founders, have worked at Google or Facebook.
