 <p>Retail automation firm Simbe has garnered USD 50 million in a Series C funding round. The round was spearheaded by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and saw participation from Eclipse, Valo Ventures, and other current investors. With this, Simbe's total funding has exceeded USD 100 million.</p>
 <p>The funding will be exploited to cater to the growing demand for retail technology across verticals, expand into new product domains, scale solutions globally, and expand Simbe's team.</p>

 <p>Brand Insights supplies daily information relating to detailed stock keeping unit (SKU) availability, out-of-stock products, accurate item location, restocking requisites, and promotional campaign execution. The information can be accessed via reports and interactive dashboards, which can be utilised by store category managers, merchandisers, brands, and account managers.</p>

 <p>Fabric, a company offering micro-fulfillment solutions, has teamed up with discount grocery chain Save A Lot and Uber to launch a micro-fulfillment center (MFC) in Brooklyn, New York. This center will handle online grocery orders made via the Uber Eats app.</p>
 <p>The MFC employs Fabric's cube-based robotic storage system and automation solutions. This technology can put together grocery orders of 50 items within six to eight minutes, allowing for 30-minute pickup and delivery times.</p>

 <p>Simbe Robotics, an autonomous inventory robot developer, has teamed up with CarrefourSA, a Turkish subsidiary of Sabanci Holding and Carrefour Group. They plan to launch Tally, an autonomous inventory robot, in chosen CarrefourSA stores.</p>
 <p>Tally functions three times a day, scanning the store aisles to confirm correct product stocking and labeling. The robot takes and processes images of shelves in real-time and checks for incorrect labels. This enables store staff to rapidly refill absent items.</p>

 <p>Sensormatic Solutions, part of Johnson Controls, has partnered with AI-powered retail insights platform pass_by. The partnership will blend pass_by's shopper mobility data with Sensormatic's in-store traffic data to offer retailers a complete view of the path to purchase. </p>
 <p>Pass_by's almanac platform is a key offering in this collaboration, providing retailers with historical and prospective insights into any US-based store. This allows for foot traffic pattern analysis, benchmarking against owned stores or competitors, and viewing YoY trends. </p>
 <p>The insights offered by this partnership will assist retailers in optimizing staffing and floor plans, anticipating product demand, and making data-based decisions for future planning.</p>

 <p>Simbe Robotics, a company that specialises in autonomous inventory robots, is broadening its alliance with Wakefern Food Corp, a retailer-owned supermarket cooperative based in the U.S. This expansion will see more deployments of Tally, Simbe's AI-powered robot, in additional ShopRite stores, such as those managed by Inserra Supermarkets and Shop-Rite Supermarkets.</p>
 <p>This growth is a result of successful pilot projects, which subsequently led to a larger expansion in 2023. At present, Wakefern Food Corp has utilised Tally robots in 70 ShopRite stores and intends to hire a dedicated advocate for Wakefern owner groups, to strengthen this increasingly growing partnership.</p>

These facilities, located in Sydney and Melbourne, utilize the automated Ocado Smart Platform and are designed to provide enhanced freshness and efficiency for Coles customers. Although opening was delayed by a year, the centers are now fully operational, expanding the global tally of Ocado's CFCs to 25. This alliance, which was first established in 2019, is predicted to strengthen Coles' presence in Australia's evolving online grocery market.</p>
