Sortera Alloys, an Indiana-based startup that uses AI, sensors, and data analytics to sort and recycle industrial scrap metals, has raised USD 10 million in a funding round led by Assembly Ventures. The company also received additional funding from Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Novelis.
The funding will support the company in scaling its operations, expanding its team, and in providing high-quality metal recycling from automobiles.
Before this funding round, Sortera had also partnered with Novelis to deliver high-quality, recycled alloy from automotive scrap to Novelis, with the latter using the recycled material to remanufacture aluminum sheet for the automotive industry.
