Sortera Alloys raises USD 10 million in seed funding

Funding

  • Sortera Alloys, an Indiana-based startup that uses AI, sensors, and data analytics to sort and recycle industrial scrap metals, has raised USD 10 million in a funding round led by Assembly Ventures. The company also received additional funding from Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Novelis.

  • The funding will support the company in scaling its operations, expanding its team, and in providing high-quality metal recycling from automobiles.

  • Before this funding round, Sortera had also partnered with Novelis to deliver high-quality, recycled alloy from automotive scrap to Novelis, with the latter using the recycled material to remanufacture aluminum sheet for the automotive industry.
