Bel Group, a global giant in the Cheese industry has entered into a strategic collaboration with Superbrewed Food, a Delaware-based fermentation startup to develop a range of cheeses (both dairy and plant-based) using Superbrewed Food’s postbiotic cultured protein.
Superbrewed Food’s protein is made from microflora by converting plant fibers and is claimed to be a nutrient-rich, allergen-friendly, non-GMO ingredient. Additionally, it contains B vitamins and six minerals including iron, phosphorus, and magnesium, according to the company. The protein ingredient is slated to be ready for distribution by 1H 2023.
Superbrewed Food, founded in 2012, is a nutrition and health company developing natural protein ingredients made from microflora. The company uses a cultured fermentation alternative protein platform for the production of its ingredients, which it claims is more nutritious and has greater functional benefits compared to other plant and microbial proteins.
