UK-based GoHenry, a neobank that offers prepaid cards for children aged 6–18, has announced the acquisition of French fintech Pixpay for an undisclosed amount. Pixpay provides a similar offering as GoHenry but is aimed at children over the age of 10.
Through the acquisition, GoHenry expands its European footprint and plans to combine the expertise of the two companies to accelerate growth. GoHenry stated that it has no plans to merge the two companies' brands and that the leadership teams and headquarters will remain unchanged.
GoHenry was formed in 2012 in the UK and expanded into the US in 2018. It currently has more than 2 million customers and generates ~USD 42 million in revenue. Pixpay was formed in 2019 in France and later expanded into Spain in 2021. It has ~200,000 customers at present.
