M1 Finance, an automated investment platform, announced plans to add the ability to trade cryptocurrencies through its platform.
Over the coming weeks, the company plans to add 10 crypto coins and tokens including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Users will be able to allocate cryptocurrencies into their portfolios and trade them commission-free through the M1 Finance platform. However, it does not plan to include any memecoins such as DogeCoin as part of its asset class.
Currently, M1 Finance has over USD 6 billion in assets under management. The company states that crypto assets will not be loaned or pledged to earn revenue similar to lending cash and securities.
