Lightyear, a UK-based stock trading platform, has raised USD 25 million in Series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Mosaic Ventures, Taavet+Sten, Metaplanet, Virgin Group, and others. Lightyear’s total funding now stands at USD 35.6 million.
The company intends to use the fresh capital to support further expansion within Europe.
Lightyear launched its platform in the UK in 2021 and has since expanded into Austria, Germany, France, Spain, and 15 other European countries.
Founded in 2020, Lightyear is a stock trading platform that offers exchange-traded funds, US and European stocks for retail investors without associated trading, and custody fees.
