The Plant Based Seafood Co., a Virginia-based producer of plant-based seafood alternatives, debuted Crab Cakes under its alternative seafood brand Mind Blown, marking the fourth addition to its alternate seafood portfolio.
The Crab Cakes are made with plant proteins, with the addition of seasoned celery and onion to recreate the classic flavors of real crab cake and panko bread crumbs for texture. The product will launch across US Sprout Farmers locations nationwide, making it the brand’s first national distribution and also via VedgeCo for wholesale buyers.
The Plant Based Seafood Co., was founded in 2020 and is the plant-based arm of The Van Cleve Seafood Co. The company’s product portfolio includes shrimp and scallop alternatives in addition to crab cakes. They can be purchased via retail outlets and online vegan marketplaces.
