ZeroAvia partners with EIA for hydrogen infrastructure

Partnerships

 • ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions developer, has partnered with Edmonton International Airport (EIA), to develop hydrogen infrastructure at Canadian airport sites.

 • Under the agreement, ZeroAvia and EIA will collaborate to develop hydrogen infrastructure at the main airport and the Villeneuve airport. ZeroAvia will also leverage its expertise in operating its hydrogen airport refueling ecosystem (HARE). Both companies will initially utilize gaseous hydrogen fuel and will later shift to liquid hydrogen for larger aircraft.

 • ZeroAvia and EIA will also conduct a pilot program to fuel a demonstrator aircraft and other operations before establishing commercial routes.

Analyst QuickTake: The partnership was followed by ZeroAvia’s additional USD 30 million funding to close its Series B funding round in July 2022. The proceeds were utilized for the development of the company’s 2-5 megawatt hydrogen-electric powertrain for its HARE system at airport sites.
