Bandit (formerly Conscious Cultures Creamery), a Philadelphia-based producer of plant-based cheese, raised USD 1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Prime Movers Lab.
The company intends on using the funds to aid the scaling up of its production process and increase its fanbase. According to the company, Bandit products will be available in grocery stores in Northern California, Texas, and Illinois in the coming months.
Bandit was founded as Conscious Cultures Creamery and was rebranded in a bid to appeal to its consumer base and as a salutation to its beginnings. The company produces plant-based cheese alternatives using cashew as the main ingredient. The portfolio includes cave-aged cheese, cheese logs, and cheese spreads.
