Sovrn holdings, an ad marketplace connecting publishers with advertisers, raised USD 36 million in Series C funding with the participation of Foundry, Archer Venture Capital, Lexington Partners, Progress Ventures, and Structural Capital.
Sovrn provides a sell-side ad platform (SSP), enabling publishers to connect with ad buyers through a secure exchange. The platform also leverages its database of customer insights to measure, compare, and monetize customer engagement in a privacy-preserving manner. The firm also provides access to its team, which provides strategic advice to improve ad performance. As of July 2022, more than 60,000 publishers in the UK and US use Sovrn’s platform, including Ziff Davis, Vox Media, Daily Beast, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Salon.
The firm plans to utilize the funds for M&A activity similar to its last fundraising round in December 2018, where it subsequently acquired three companies. The firm has executed six acquisitions to date.
The firm also stated that it had achieved YoY revenue growth for seven consecutive quarters.
