Sativus Tech Corp (previously known as Seedo Corp), an Israeli hydroponics-based vertical farming company, has announced that it has grown the highest quality saffron in the current growth cycle based on results from an independent evaluation.
Results also showed that saffron could be grown in a three-month growth cycle, supporting the company’s aim of completing four cycles per year, compared to traditional agriculture’s single cycle per year.
The results are also a green light for Sativus’ global expansion plans, with the company launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the construction of its first large-scale saffron vertical farm. The company aims to create a reliable supply chain for saffron and target multiple sectors including retail, pharmaceutical, culinary, and beauty and wellness.
