Pennsylvania-based CleanRobotics, which offers a robotic system called TrashBot that uses cameras, sensors, and AI to analyze waste and identify recyclables from the waste sent to landfills, has raised USD 4.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Melco International Development Ltd. SOSV/HAX, Undivided VC, and Longmont Evergreen Opportunity Fund also participated in the round.
The funds will be used to support the company’s plans to produce “hundreds” of its robotic systems by increasing hiring and improving manufacturing and R&D.
The company also reported that it is looking to partner with companies in China, Australia, and Singapore to expand its presence.
