Pony.ai to deploy robotaxi services on Cao Cao Mobility’s ride-hailing platform in Beijing

Partnerships

  • Pony.ai, a self-driving vehicle technology company, has partnered with Chinese ride-hailing platform Cao Cao Mobility to provide robotaxi services to the latter’s customers in Beijing.

  • The company will deploy a fleet of 30 robotaxis and rides will be offered in a 23-square-mile area in the city’s southeast Yizhuang District. The service will cover 250 drop-off and pick-up stations in the area.

  • Customers will be charged an RMB 18 (USD 2.67) base fare for the first three km (1.9 miles), plus RMB 3 (USD 0.44) per km (0.62 miles) at peak hours and RMB 2.6 (USD 0.39) per km at off-peak hours. A local ride-hailing service reportedly charges a base fare of RMB 14 (USD 2.1) for the first 3 km and RMB 1.8 (0.27) per km thereafter.
