Deel, a payroll and benefits provider for remote workers, announced the launch of Deel Advance, a feature that allows users to access paychecks up to 30 days in advance.
The feature will allow users to withdraw up to USD 50 free of charge. Additional withdrawals will cost between 2% and 3% of the advance value (minimum fee of USD 10). The platform outlined that the service is open to verified Deel users with a fixed contract for at least three months, receiving remuneration on a weekly or monthly basis.
The feature was a part of Deel’s product roadmap at the time of its most recent funding round in September 2020, when it raised USD 30 million in its Series A round. The launch follows its peer Gusto’s digital wallet, which gives workers access to the same feature without limitations on advance payments.
Deel, founded in 2018, is a payroll platform that generates labor contracts and tax documents while also facilitating payments and benefits for contractors. The company aims to simplify the hiring of international contractors by making the payments, onboarding compliance, and documentation process faster.
