Revolut, a UK-based neobank that serves both B2C and B2B segments, has been granted authorization by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CYSEC) to offer crypto services across the European Economic Area (EEA).
The neobank intends to provide crypto services to its existing 17 million clients as well as new customers in the EEA by establishing a new crypto-hub in Cyprus. Revolut currently has 80 cryptocurrencies in its portfolio.
In spite of having temporary approval to trade crypto-assets in the UK, Revolut is yet to be granted full approval as the UK lacks a regulatory framework for crypto-assets compared to the EU.
