Raven SR, a producer of hydrogen-rich syngas, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Howden, a Scottish engineering provider of air and gas handling products, to provide compressor systems for Raven’s hydrogen fuel production facilities.
Under the partnership, both companies will develop a standardized design for hydrogen compressors to be deployed at Raven SR’s production facilities. This allows Raven SR to meet its hydrogen compressor demand for the next five years.
In addition, Howden plans to supply compressor systems for Raven SR’s G-Series (gas-to-fuels) system, beginning from 2023. During June 2022, Howden signed an MoU to supply three hydrogen diaphragm compressors for Raven SR’s renewable hydrogen facility in Richmond, California and expects to begin operations in April 2023.

Analyst QuickTake: Raven SR plans to deploy 15 hydrogen facilities globally by next year. Thereby, the partnership with Howden enhances project implementation efficiency and minimizes disruption in sourcing hydrogen-related infrastructure such as compressors and steam turbines. Raven SR recently announced plans to deploy INNIO’s Jenbacher Ready-for-H2 engines to produce renewable energy at Raven SR’s waste-to-hydrogen plant in California.
