Pajarito Powder, a developer of advanced catalysts for proton exchange membrane (PEM) and alkaline fuel cells, has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series B investment round led by Bekaert, a Belgium-based steel wire and coating technology company.
The funds will be used for the deployment and construction of its previously announced new manufacturing facility in New Mexico, which will produce hydrogen catalysts. This new facility is expected to be larger than its current 6,000 sq ft facility.

Analyst QuickTake: Pajarito Powder received USD 250,000 from the State of New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) and USD 25,000 from the City of Albuquerque in March 2022 . These funds were also deployed to finance the expansion of its new manufacturing facility in New Mexico. The company’s Series B funding had a total offering target of USD 12.6 million, of which USD 9.4 million was raised in June 2021. This leaves an excess of USD 3.2 million, which is assumed to have been raised by Bekaert, according to a Form D filed by Pajarito Powder with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in June 2021.
