  • Mercedes-Benz Vans partners with Rivian: The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate a strategic partnership under which they will leverage shared investments, shared costs, and pursue operational synergies to produce electric vans. As part of this venture, the companies will establish a new joint venture manufacturing company to invest in and operate a factory in Europe to produce these vehicles. The company will produce two large vans, one based on VAN.EA (MB Vans Electric Architecture) and the other based on Rivian Light Van (RLV) platform.

  • GM unveils USD 30,000 electric SUV: General Motors has launched the Chevrolet Equinox EV which is expected to be the cheapest compact electric SUV in the market with a starting price of USD 30,000. The vehicle, which offers 300 miles of range and is powered by GM’s Ultium Platform, will be ready for delivery in late 2023.

  • Jeep to launch EVs in the US and Europe in 2025: Jeep has reported plans to introduce four electric SUVs in North America and Europe by the end of 2025. This is part of the company’s goal to have 50% of its sales in the US and 100% of its sales in Europe be EVs by 2030 in support of its parent company Stellantis’ net-zero carbon emissions targets. Jeep has introduced two of its EV models, Wagoneer S, and Jeep Recon, with a third model, Jeep Avenger, to be premiered in October.
