Raven SR, a producer of hydrogen-rich syngas, trialed out its non-combustion equilibrium Steam/ CO2 Reforming SR2 unit at the company’s Benicia Fabrication & Machine facility in California. The field trial demonstrated the commercial readiness of Raven SR’s waste-to-hydrogen and gas-to-hydrogen processes.
Raven SR plans to bring its first commercial Steam/ CO2 Reforming production facility online in the first half of 2023. The new facility will be deployed at the West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill in Richmond, California. The facility will convert organic green waste into hydrogen for transportation.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Raven SR also announced plans to deploy a waste-to-hydrogen production facility in Aragon, Spain . The project is expected to generate 1,600 tons of renewable hydrogen per year by processing nearly 75 tons of organic waste per day and is scheduled to be operational by 2023. Raven SR has plans to open its Series C financing round and expects to close the same in late 2022. The company’s existing investors include Chevron, Ascent Hydrogen Fund, ITOCHU, Samsung, and Hyzon Motors. The funds generated from the company’s upcoming funding will be used to deploy multiple systems globally.</ul>
