Finalsite, a K-12 website and communication platform provider, announced that it has acquired the Blackboard K-12 Community Engagement division ("Blackboard K-12") from Anthology, a higher educational software solution provider, for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Finalsite’s product offering to provide an all-in-one suite for website, marketing, and communication solutions for K-12 schools. The combined firm will have a customer base of more than 7,000 schools and districts across 115 countries.

This transaction allows Anthology to continue its focus on Blackboard Learn Ultra, Anthology Student, and other areas of expertise in the EdTech space. Additionally, the company stated that Anthology will continue to be the preferred learning management system provider for K-12 schools that use Blackboard Learn.

The Blackboard K-12 division offers a comprehensive suite of community engagement solutions for K-12 schools and districts. They include Blackboard Web Community Manager, Blackboard Connect, Blackboard Reach, Blackboard Mass Notifications, and the Blackboard Mobile Communications App.
