Nikola Motor Company (Nikola), a NASDAQ listed developer of heavy-duty battery electric vehicles (BEV) and fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV), announced a joint venture (JV) with E.ON, a German-based energy networks and infrastructure operator.
This JV will establish a hydrogen supply agreement and hydrogen infrastructure to cater to the mobility solutions of European customers. The two companies signed a term sheet and plans to negotiate a definitive agreement to finalize the terms.
Under this agreement, Nikola and E.ON expect to combine next-generation Class 8 semi-truck technology along with support services including service and maintenance and green hydrogen infrastructure. This partnership will decarbonize the heavy-duty truck market across Europe. The JV expects to be finalized by the end of 2022.
