Salt Security, an API security startup, secured an undisclosed investment as an extension to its Series D funding round from Falcon Fund, the corporate venture arm of the cybersecurity company, CrowdStrike. Salt Security’s total funding currently stands at USD 271 million.
Additionally, Salt Security and CrowdStrike have also partnered to integrate Salt Security’s API discovery and the latter’s Falcon runtime protection on applications to provide a comprehensive view of an organization’s attack surface and accelerate threat detection and response.
Analyst QuickTake: CrowdStrike’s investment follows Salt Security’s USD 140 million Series D fundraiser at a USD 1.4 billion valuation in February this year. The funds were to be used to expand R&D, sales and marketing, and international growth.
