Oyster, an HR and benefits company, raised USD 50 million in a Series B funding round led by Stripes, with participation from existing investors Emergence Capital and The Slack Fund, and new investor Avid Ventures.
The financing follows its USD 20 million Series A round just four months ago, raising the company’s valuation to USD 475 million, roughly 6x its previous valuation. The significant increase in valuation can be attributed to a 6x increase in its revenue YTD 2021, supported by an 8x increase in its customer base. The fresh funding will be allocated to expanding its product to additional markets.
Founded in 2019, Oyster offers a software-as-a-service (SaaS) HR and benefits platform for enterprises. Its services include payroll, benefits, and onboarding. In addition, the company assists organizations in dealing with cross-border regulations and tax laws when hiring remotely. Its services are offered in more than 100 countries, and some of its competitors include Globalization Partners, Remote, and Deel.
