Mobility data provider Wejo has unveiled “DELIVEREE,” an autonomous vehicle (AV) prototype that is used to develop Wejo’s Autonomous Vehicle Operating System (AV-OS), a software that uses live, real-time connected vehicle data to support the development, testing, and operation of AVs.
DELIVEREE involves further developments to AV-OS, demonstrating the use of connected car data for AV developers. The system integrates real-time parameters such as the number of cars on the road, construction barriers, pedestrians crossing the street, cyclists, slippery roads, and weather and road conditions. It also standardizes how AVs communicate real-time environmental settings, vehicle status, digital twin testing, etc.
Analyst QuickTake: Wejofirst unveiled the AV-OS in June this year to provide intelligence and insights on AVs. The platform leverages connected vehicle data to provide actionable insights for simulating and modeling AV development, developing road network digital twins, and providing live 3D intelligence on longer-range conditions such as traffic, roadways, and environments. We believe today’s product update will help accelerate the development and innovation process for AVs.
