Funding

  •  Izuma Networks, an edge computing and internet-of-things (IoT) services provider, acquired Pelion, an IoT device management company, for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition of Pelion, a company that was spun out from Arm as an independent business unit in 2020, will provide Izuma Networks with access to software and intellectual property portfolio developed by Arm’s IoT Services Group (ISG) between 2013 to 2020.

  • Izuma Networks also secured an investment by SoftBank Group which it plans to use to expand its employee base and offer IoT services that were previously offered under Pelion with a new focus on development operations. The funds will also be used to integrate Izuma Netowork’s edge and IoT services under one umbrella.

  • The company will leverage the acquisition to offer Pelion Device Management Client, a portable stack for connecting IoT devices, under the name “Izuma Client” and connect it to the Izuma Cloud.
