Smart Apply raised USD 1.8 million in seed funding

Funding

  • Smart Apply, an Indiana-based company offering precision spraying systems, has raised USD 1.8 million in an extended seed funding round led by Serra Ventures. Existing investors Frontier Angels and VisionTech Angels also participated in the round.

  • The funds will be used to expand the company’s sales team and increase marketing efforts and manufacturing capacity amidst the doubling of sales of its precision spraying and data collection systems in 2021 and 2022.

  • Founded in 2014, Smart Apply offers an intelligent spray control system for air-blast sprayers that uses light detection and ranging (LiDAR) technology to detect and spray trees with precision. The company claims that its technology has the highest accuracy and reduces pesticide and chemical usage by up to 50%.
