WELL Health acquires certain CloudMD assets to expand its offerings

M&A

  • Canadian-based digital health company WELL Health and general telemedicine facilitator CloudMD have entered into an agreement where WELL Health will acquire CloudMD’s Cloud Practice as well as three primary care clinics located in British Columbia. The acquisition was carried out to expand WELL’s offerings in Canada as well as allow its EHR and billing solutions to enter new markets in Canada.

  • The transaction will be carried out for USD 5.8 million, with USD 5.1 million to be paid in cash at closing, while the balance will be subject to closing adjustments and holdbacks. CloudMD’s Cloud Practice includes the company’s EHR and billing software. The three clinics acquired have a total of 20 staff, with two located in Vancouver and the other in Surrey.

  • The deal is expected to close in Q4 of 2022 and will see WELL Health’s coverage surpass 2,500 healthcare practitioners while also marking the company’s entry into new markets of Alberta, Saskatchewan for its EHR and billing software.
