SchoolStatus, a student data and communication platform, acquired School Innovations & Achievement (SI&A), a K-12 school administration platform, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen SchoolStatus’s ability to improve student performance by using its data-driven multi-tiered system to track, manage, and improve school attendance. SI&A will continue to operate independently with a deep integration of SchoolStatus's suite of solutions, and its customers will have access to the same products and services. In turn, SchoolStatus will strengthen SI&A's email-based communication with the introduction of two-way texting and calls. In addition, as part of the agreement, it will acquire SI&A's operations and solutions, its team of 73 employees, and its customers across 400 districts and nine states.
SI&A offers innovative programs that aim to improve student learning by improving school attendance, mitigate risk by ensuring policy compliance on a local and state level, and protect school funding. Its flagship product, “The Achievement Initiative,” is a solution designed to address educational issues such as declining enrollment, missing students, chronic absenteeism, the negative effects of missing school, and communication with families.
Analyst QuickTake: SchoolStatus commits to further strengthening its position in the tech-driven school administration space by acquiring SI&A. It also complements its recently-added cloud-based school administration solution Operoo (acquired in October 2021).
