Amprius Technologies partners with BAE Systems

Partnerships

  • Amprius Technologies, an NYSE-listed company developing silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries, entered into a three-year cooperation agreement with BAE Systems, an LSE-listed defense, aerospace, and security company.

  • Under this agreement, Amprius will initially work with BAE Systems’ air business and will deliver batteries specifically developed for electrically powered flight applications. Additionally, both parties will be identifying business opportunities to use Amprius’ silicon nanowire anode batteries for electric products developed by BAE Systems in the UK.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Amprius was recently listed on the NYSE stock exchange in September 2022. In October 2022, the company received a USD 1 million grant from the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office as well as a USD 50 million cost-sharing grant from the US Department of Energy under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The company is currently aiming to demonstrate silicon nanowire anode technology manufactured at component and cell levels on multi-megawatt-hour-scale manufacturing lines, to then install and operate a large-scale production line for its ultra-high energy density batteries.
