AeroFarms, one of the largest disruptors producing leafy greens aeroponically, has expanded its partnership agreement with Whole Foods Market to supply the latter’s stores nationwide.
AeroFarms previously only supplied to WholeFoods market stores in the Northeast and has expanded distribution nationwide amidst increased demand for its vertically produced greens.
AeroFarms is also reportedly the leading retail brand for microgreens in terms of unit and dollar sales in the US, according to Nielsen syndicated data.
Analyst QuickTake : This announcement follows the expansion of production at the company’s Virginia facility to customers in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets. The company previously supplied to 500 grocery stores in the Northeast US via leading retailers including Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, FreshDirect, and Walmart.
