Innoviz partners with Kudan to develop LiDAR-based geospatial mapping solutions

Product updates
Partnerships

  • Innoviz Technologies (Innoviz), an Israel-based developer of LiDAR sensors and perception software, partnered with Japan-based software company Kudan to develop LiDAR-based geospatial mapping solutions for multiple industries, including automotive applications.

  • Kudan’s perception software facilitates the generation of 3D maps of surrounding environments, leveraging a technique known as SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), where the autonomous system maps objects around the vehicle based on inputs from sensors such as LiDAR. This allows autonomous vehicles to view and act upon changes to their environment in real time.

  • In addition to automotive applications, the partnership also facilitates other use cases such as HD maps, robotics, construction, surveying, digital twining, and industrial metaverse applications.
