UK-based Oxford Medical Simulation raises GBP 2.1 million

Funding

  • Oxford Medical Simulation, a VR healthcare training provider, raised GBP 2.1 million (~USD 2.4 million) from ACF Investors and angel investor Dr Nicolaus Henke (former head of Healthcare Systems and Services Practice, McKinsey).

  • The funds are to be used to expand its product offerings and to support its US market expansion.

  • Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS) provides VR-based simulation training to healthcare professionals with AI-controlled patients. The simulations focus on crisis resource management, team interaction, patient engagement, and decision making under pressure, and the users can practice in various clinical scenarios. OMS’s client base includes several NHS Trusts and universities such as John Hopkins University and Duke University.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Healthcare training solutions are gaining attention as the XR space is already home to several AR/VR based corporate and sports training solutions. Osso VR, which offers surgical training and assessment solutions, recently raised USD 66 million in Series C funding.
