Menopause support provider Vira Health announced it has acquired fellow menopause treatment prescriber Alva for an undisclosed sum. This acquisition will enable Vira Health to launch a fully-regulated online menopause clinic that can prescribe hormonal therapies and non-hormonal alternatives, in addition to its current services to help mitigate the symptoms of menopause through cognitive behavioral therapy, pelvic floor exercises, diet, and lifestyle changes.

UK-based Alva provides an online platform that prescribes hormone replacement therapy to users who are experiencing menopause. Users carry out a virtual consultation with prescribers, where the questions asked are certified by UK regulator Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. Users have access to educational materials and the platform also has an online community for support.
