Aeye Q3 2022 update: Revenue up 6x YoY; releases latest “4Sight” product line

Earnings/results

  • AEye, a LiDAR manufacturer, announced its Q3 2022 results today. The company reported revenue of USD 0.77 million in Q3 2022, up 6.0x YoY from Q3 2021, due to an increase in both prototype sales (up 5.1x YoY) and development contracts (USD 0.12 million in Q3 vs zero revenue a year ago).

  • AEye’s non-GAAP net loss for the quarter stood at USD 17 million (USD 0.11 loss per share), 1.2x the loss incurred in Q3 2021 (USD 0.12 loss per share). The widening net loss was due to the increase in operating expenses such as R&D, sales and marketing, and general and administrative costs.

  • Today, AEye also released its new “4Sight” product line, which the company claims to be built on a high-performance adaptive LiDAR platform, and announced the start of construction on a high-volume manufacturing line at its partner and electronics manufacturer Sanmina’s future plant in Thailand.
